About this session

The case for the conversation.

India's CBG sector has crossed the policy threshold. The mandatory blending obligation is live from FY 2025-26, Budget 2026-27 has notified excise duty relief on the CBG portion of blended CNG, and SATAT anchors the demand side. The remaining gap is execution — and that puts financing at the centre of every conversation. Around 190 CBG plants are operational today and 594 more are under construction, yet average plant utilization sits near 35% — well short of what the FY29 5% blend target requires. Closing that gap calls for tens of thousands of crore in fresh investment and a sharper financing playbook. This one-hour webinar brings together bankers, project developers and climate-finance specialists to unpack how CBG projects are actually getting funded today: the debt-equity mix lenders are accepting, the credit comfort drawn from OMC offtake agreements, and how the RBI's Green Deposits Framework and draft climate-risk disclosure rules are starting to shape pricing and covenants. It is a working session, not a keynote — expect candid discussion of where deals are closing, where they're stalling, and what makes a Bio-CBG project bankable in 2026.
