About this session

The case for the conversation.

India's consulting and professional-services market is dominated by a handful of global firms, while capable domestic consultancies struggle to build the scale, credentials and track record needed to compete. A large part of the challenge is structural: public-sector RFPs often carry turnover and prior government-project thresholds that smaller Indian firms cannot meet, and limited tenders circulate among a narrow set of large players — making it hard for domestic firms to break in and grow. PM Modi's 2026 Independence Day address placed this squarely within the Viksit Bharat 2047 agenda — a call for self-reliant, globally competitive Indian institutions, including the aspiration for Indian consulting and accounting firms to rank among the world's best. This session examines the demand side reforms, procurement changes and capability-building pathways that can turn that ambition into reality.
